Do you have an idea for a Hockeyville themed float?
Well the Riverboat Days Parade committee has the category for you!
This category will be judged independently by a “Hockeyville” judge and a prize will be awarded for the best Hockeyville float!
To place an entry into the parade, in any category, contact Debbie Letawski at 250-638-8887 or Drop by the George Little House for an application.
Entries should be signed up no later than noon on Friday July 31, 2009.

This is an invitation to attend Art That Gives Back, a live art auction featuring a number of local artists with all proceeds going towards the drop-in day centre which operates at the All Nations Centre in downtown Terrace.
The centre provides food and support services for those who need it and operates through community donations. Casey Eys, who runs the centre and also works for Northwest Addictions Services, says that at the moment they are feeding on average 80 people a day.
The centre is in need of some assistance, so please consider attending this event and forward this e-mail onto anyone who might be interested in attending; the better the attendance the more money that can be raised!

Downtown Revitalization By-Law |

 DOWNTOWN Business owners looking to do major renovations in the next few years will now be able to save some money while doing the improvements.
The City of Terrace passed a downtown revitalization tax exemption bylaw at the last council meeting June 8, which means businesses in the designated revitalization area will be eligible for a tax exemption if undergoing new improvements or alterations on their buildings.

The Commuter Challenge in Terrace! |

 As part of a commitment to support active and healthier commuting, the City of Terrace will be participating in the 2009 Canadian Commuter Challenge.
The Commuter Challenge is national program that encourages Canadians to walk, cycle, carpool, tele-work or take transit instead of driving to work alone.
The challenge is intended a friendly competition between workplaces and communities across Canada to see which has the highest percentage participation rates during the week. During Commuter Challenge week, employees record how they get to work and at the end the week the workplace with the highest percentage of healthier commuters is declared the winner. We challenge all workplaces to register and encourage employees to join in during Canadian Environment Week, May 31-June 6, 2009.
